How we work
As specialists in Will writing services and estate planning, we want to make sure that your will not only represents your wishes but is written to remove or reduce any inheritance tax liability for your beneficiaries.
With house prices now bringing so many families into the inheritance tax bracket, the need for professional advice from companies like Independent Will Makers is greater than ever. You simply don't get the same level of reassurance from postal, DIY or online providers.
Visiting you at home:
There's no need for you to take time off work to visit us because we'll visit you, daytime, evening or weekend and at no extra charge.
Leaving the jargon at the door:
Just because we understand the 'legalese' doesn't mean that we have to use it. We'll talk plain English and do our utmost to ensure you don't sign anything you don't understand.
Our attention to detail:
Within 14 days of giving us your instructions, you will receive a draft document for your approval. If you notify us of any changes or corrections, they will, of course, be done free of charge. Once you have approved this draft, the final document(s) will either be sent to you with clear instructions for signing and witnessing, or else delivered to you by hand, so that we can supervise the signing and witnessing ourselves. If we are not present, we shall always ask you to send the wills back to us to be checked. This is extremely important, because a will that has been improperly signed or witnessed is invalid.
If we are storing your Will, you will have an unsigned copy to keep, together with a certificate of storage. If you are making your own arrangements for storage, you should ensure that the Will is in a safe place and is only accessible to you and your executors.
